Users

In order for people to log into CharterAce they must have a user account.  We highly recommend NOT sharing user accounts, if you have additional people who need access to the system, they should be set up as a separate user to ensure proper logging and separation of duties among staff.  

Users can be added to the system, and must be tied together with an entity (school) through a role.   Roles are predefined in the system, and each role comes along with a generic set of permissions.  Permissions define what the people are allowed to do in the system.  Users can have multiple roles, for example, you can assign a user both the "School Actg Clerk" and the "School Registrar" at the same time, and the person would have the permissions associated with each of these roles.

You can also assign individual permissions to a specific person if you want an individual to have more permission than is usually granted by a specific pre-defined roles.
