Vendors have several options to select from when they want to use electronic payments. One of the options is referred to as "VCard" or Virtual Card Payments.
When a vendor signs up to accept payments in this way, they must provide an email address of the person who handles the payments. As part of the process they will be given the first six digits of a credit card payment to use. Then, when you send a payment to the vendor, instead of mailing a check, Bill.Com will send an email to the email address that the vendor provided. The email will include the last ten digits of the credit card number, and the total amount they are allowed to charge to that temporary credit card number. Then the vendor themselves can process the payment through their typical credit card processing system.
On your end, this is not a credit card payment, but on the vendor's side, they will process it like a credit card. When the payment is made it will be displayed in CharterAce as "VCARD-####" (With the #### replaced by the last four digits of the credit card number provided to the vendor).
If the Vendor does not process the credit card payment within 20 days, the temporary credit card will expire, and Bill.Com will send a paper check to the vendor instead.
